Basic understanding of Mediation - THE RAJ YOGA

Before we proceed to understand the steps in Meditation to achieve Smadhi (or the state of unification with Super Conciousness), I would like to share few words of wisdom:

"Uniformity is the rigrous law of nature, what once happened can happen always." - So if the mistiques were avaialble in the past they are available even today.

"The world is ready to give up its secrets if we only know how to knocki, how to give it the necessary blow. the strength and force of the blow come through concentration. There is no limit to the power of human brain. The more concentrated it is, the more power is brought to bear on one point."

We can achieve the high level of concentration and acquire the infinte energy and power of the universe, but at the same time we have to think that the energy and power is to be utilized for the purpose of doing good to the society and not to be used for any kind of destruction. The power, the energy is like a bullet, who do not understands the face of the target, who understands only one thing that "It has to perform the action its master has asked to do, even if the master in its all negative thoughts has decided to destroy his own near and dear ones including himself."

We have to be cautions before using any meditational method - As the sages said - " A word is uttered, and we do not wait to consider its meaning; we jump to a conclusion immediately. It is the sign of weakness of the chitta (Process in the mind stuff is called chitta). Now you can understand the theory of restraint. The weaker the man, the less he has of restraints. Examine yourself always by that test. When you are going to be angry or misreable, reason it out how it is that some news that has come to you is throwing your mind into vrittis (The wave of thought in Chitta are called Vrittis).

Once we have understood te reason of our urge to have power and to do meditation to achieve that thie above mentioned text is the litmus test for you before you proceed for any power pack method of meditiation.
